Jesus’ Reign – The Only Hope for Africa and the Nations by Laban Jjumba

Do the nations have a future? Does Africa have a future? Or is it what we have always believed that all nations are on a downward slide towards destruction, and nothing can be done about it? We believe this is because Christians have misunderstood our Lord Jesus’ command for us to go into the entire world and make all nations to become His disciples. We have believed that this “Great Commission” only refers to calling people to repent of their sins and received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Does the gospel only stop at spiritual matters or does it include transforming their way of life, agriculture, housing, hygiene, health, work ethic, enterprise, creativity, etcetera?

At this time, when the nations of the world seem to be losing hope for a brighter future, this book discusses the fact that when Jesus came as Messiah, He came to establish a kingdom. This kingdom has a past, a present and a future. We all agree that the future of Jesus’ Kingdom includes the 1,000 years rule of Christ which we call the Millennium, and also includes eternity in Heaven. It is the present position of Jesus’ Kingdom that we never seem to agree on. Does Jesus rule in the present? How do we expect the prayer we pray everyday to be answered? “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, as it is done in Heaven.”

This book discusses this question and, through practical experiences and examples, comes to amazing conclusions. Could it be that the present travail throughout all the earth is a desperate Macedonian call from the hopeless masses of the world directed to God’s children to play their role as Sons of the Kingdom, because they have been appointed to establish and enforce Jesus’ reign in the nations?
